ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe economy of our Nation does not depend on the prosperity of the large-scale industries, but on the growth and development of the medium and small-scale industries. To enhance the developments in the small-scale sectors there is a need for highly skilled Mechanical Engineers. Thus it is the responsibility of each technical institute to cater to the demand of engineers with global knowledge and practical experience. To meet the needs and challenges, the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Nandha Engineering College has a firm commitment to develop and produce erstwhile Mechanical Engineers with the latest technical knowledge, good leadership qualities, spirit of competence and selflessness. MISSION
CURRICULUM Scientific temperament, the most vital dimension of a sound Engineering professional is exposed to the students in various laboratories. The field of Mechanical Engineering has widest applications in industry esp manufacturing industry. The Department is contributing its best to train the brains and hands with the aid of well-qualified and experienced faculty and ultra-modern laboratories. Basics of Thermal engineering, internal combustion engines, refrigeration & air conditioning systems production engineering, mechtronics, fluids, are instilled in the class by using models and charts. Frequent industry visits, trainings and guest lectures by prominent industry experts are very common at Nandha Engineering College. THE COURSESThe faculty and students of the Department have been encouraged to participate in numerous seminars. The staff and students have presented a number of papers in various technical symposiums. The Department organizes industry-institution interactions at regular intervals by bringing in several Resource Personalities from various Mechanical companies. These seminars highlight on the growth of Mechanical Industry and also concentrate on subjects in which a student can groom himself, before entering dynamic revolution. Further, the Department encourages the students to undergo practical in-plant training programs to acquire a real time practical knowledge and experience of various applications in today's Mechanical field. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATIONThe Students Association organizes activities that include workshops, association meeting on emerging trends in Mechanical Engineering. The division also organizes various summer/winter schools, workshops on various areas of Mechanical Engineering for the benefit of various faculty/ researchers and is attended by people all over the country. Every year the Department of Mechanical is conducting a National Technical Symposium in the name of MECH MEDALLIONS. It has been planned to conduct International Level Conference in the current academic year.
