About the Department

The Department of Computer Application was established in the year 2006 and was affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. From 2007 Batch onwards the course is affiliated to Anna University, Coimbatore.

Vision 

 To be a technically advanced department on par with international standards through continuous improvement. To provide value, need based and quality education to upgrade the talents of students. Dissolution of boundaries between subject areas and innovative practices.

Mission

To provide quality education and training in software technology to prepare the students for work equipping them to contribute technically to the software industry. The department pursues in every area to provide training to develop professionalism among the students and set path to leadership.

• On Successful completion of the program the candidates are ready take up positions such as Application Programmers, Project Managers, System Analyst, Customer Service Engineers, Software Engineers and Helpdesk Engineers.

Courses

The faculty and students of the department have been encouraged to participate in numerous seminars. The staff and students have presented a number of papers in various both national and state level technical symposiums. The department organizes industry-institutions interactions at regular intervals by bringing in several Resource Personalities from various software companies. These seminars highlight on the growth of software industry and also concentrate on subjects in which a student can groom himself, before entering dynamic revolution.

Further, the department encourages the students to undergo practical in-plant training programs to acquire a real time practical knowledge and experience of various applications in today's computer field.

Curriculum

The curriculum consists of both basic and advanced courses  as per Anna University syllabus. The curriculum is a balanced blend of theory and practical. The Practical is performed in a well professional manner.

Faculty

The faculty in our department teaching is more passionate than profession. Our ultimate aim is, not only to create well educated students but also to train them to acquire awareness about the changing world of scenario in software field. The department has a strong team of faculty members who are well qualified and experienced in both hardware and software tools.

Industrial Visit

Our Second year students are encouraged to go for industrial visit. These industrial visits help the students to acquire knowledge in recent trends to update themselves so as to meet the new challenges of global technology and also helps them to choose their project work. Recent industrial visit  by our students

PROJECT

As per the University regulations, the students have to submit a project work in the final year. Only individual project is encouraged as per University norms. Each student is guided by an internal staff. The students are allowed to do the project work only in companies. They are allowed to approach any sponsored project that has innovative ideas. The students are motivated and stream lined.

The second and third year students are encouraged to undertake mini project work. Students get an experience in developing softwares / hardwares. This makes students attain better knowledge in understanding the functioning of various softwares and hardware tools.

Association

"ELITE"

Our Association named ELITE is a forum where students are encouraged to exhibit their maximum talents in co-curricular activities like Debate, Technical Quiz, Paper presentation, Group Discussion, Mock Interviews, Aptitude tests, etc. at regular intervals. Through these activities, the students get confidence to face the expert panel while attending an interview. Eminent personalities in their field of specialization are invited to deliver guest lecturers regularly for the benefit of students
